Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, follow, improve and complete test plans and other documentation in a thorough and consistent manner, and scoping tasks relative to business priorities
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal testing processes where appropriate
  • Testing game content and features to make sure they are stable and to high quality
  • Managing bug tracking from discovery to resolution, highlighting key issues to development team
  • Testing game mechanics and providing clear, concise feedback to line manager, producers and/or development team

  • Be the day-to-day champion of QA at Bossa Studios – responsible for the oversight of QA across one or more in-development or legacy projects
  • Working with the QA team (as well as off site testers) to ensure test processes are followed and improved where necessary
  • Working with development team and technical QA testers in optimising testing, suggesting potential tools or testing in order to optimise test time
  • Promoting good quality practices with the development team in order to improve quality
  • Drive improvement of internal testing processes where required (both manual and automated testing)
  • Providing feedback on test documentation, and suggesting improvements where necessary to ensure proper test coverage
  • Provide recommendations on resource numbers across all projects in order to ensure all in development projects are correctly resourced
  • Provide support and coaching to the test team in order to ensure continuous improvement of overall standards
  • Monitoring of social media and community channels for bugs and prioritising when found
  • Managing bug tracking from discovery to resolution, highlighting key issues to development team; including during bug triages and standup meetings
  • Engage with development team in a tactful and diplomatic manner in order to proactively find issues early in development process

Required skills:

As a Senior Coder you will be responsible for working with the rest of the development department to take our games from concept to completion. You’ll work on a wide variety of areas of each game, and will be actively collaborating with team members of other disciplines. You will have the opportunity to work in a flexible environment, and to add your own ideas into the mix in order to create the most enjoyable and entertaining game possible.

 

As a candidate for the Senior Coder role you are expected to have proven experience within a senior/lead role, with broad experience working across a wide variety of game systems. Importantly you must also be self-motivating, a strong team player who is proactive and with a personal desire to deliver at the highest standard.

  • Taking core gameplay features from a design through development all the way through bugfixing and polish
